Discover King’s Bay
By TT Travel • 1790868647

Long before King’s Bay became the peaceful stretch of dark sand and turquoise water along Tobago’s Windward Road, it was an important Amerindian settlement. Dugout canoes once entered these sheltered waters, and artefacts found here tell of a presence long before European arrival.
The bay was later recorded by the Dutch as Kuylsac Bay before becoming an important site in Tobago’s British colonisation. On 12 November 1764, Alexander Brown, Tobago’s first British Lieutenant-Governor, landed here with his secretary.
Plantation estates later occupied the surrounding hills, including King’s Bay Estate, which was worked by enslaved Africans and produced sugar into the 1800s.
Today, King’s Bay remains one of Tobago’s quieter coastal spots surrounded by palms, forested hills and a peaceful stretch of dark sand.
A beautiful place where Tobago’s natural beauty and history meet.
