Mt. pleasant Credit Union

The Mt. Pleasant Credit Union (MPCU) has been serving the community for more than 75 years, with roots dating back to 1950. The idea was introduced by Peter Roach, a resident of Mt. Pleasant, after attending a co-operative conference in Puerto Rico. Inspired by the co-operative movement, he encouraged fellow villagers to embrace the spirit of cooperation, leading to the birth of the Mt. Pleasant Credit Union. MPCU was officially registered on June 10, 1950, and has continued to grow while remaining committed to the financial well-being and development of its members. Today, MPCU proudly serves over 16,000 members and has an asset base of approximately $250 million. Our growth has also led to the establishment of a branch office in Bon Accord and our subsidiary company, Total Holdings Ltd., which has pioneered land development within the credit union sector. From humble beginnings in Mt. Pleasant to an established financial institution, MPCU continues to build on the values of co-operation, community, growth, and financial empowerment.
